How Do You Know That College Is Right For You?

Choosing a college be left up to more than just how much it costs to attend it, so it shouldn’t be a matter as simple as who their football team is. While you may plan on being at that dream college of yours for the full four years, it may turn out a semester or two down the road that it wasn’t all that you thought it would be.

CBS MoneyWatch posted up an article this week on 6 ways to pick a college, outlining steps you can take towards researching different colleges and finding the one that’s right for you. Here are some questions you should be asking yourself:

What’s the graduation/retention/transfer rate? CollegeResults.org offers ore numbers and statistics than you would ever want to know for any college of your choosing. Now, they may not be 100% accurate, but they’re close enough.

How good are the professors? RateMyProfessor.com is a great place to start.

What do students think of the college? CollegeProwler.com. Must I say any more?

Can you afford it? This really should be the first question on the list. For information on this, check out the College Scorecard.

These are all questions you should be asking yourself before making your decision on which college to attend.
